Little known Rowdy facts, I have no tattoos. Just a lot of scars. But at one time I did have one of my nipples pierced. HA! No pictures of that, sorry.
My left ring finger, my right elbow and right collarbone are all permanently disfigured from injury.
But hidden within me are the results of 10 surgeries on my intestines. Where my body has had the most "modification" as it were... And now it seems I am going to have to make some modification to what goes into my body due to it.
I am going to have to pretty much quit soda. And Gatorade. Looks like Pedialyte will have to be my sports drink. And I am going to have to no longer eat and drink together during my meals. And a very large percentage of my diet is going to have to come from bread, rice, noodles and such kinds of carbohydrates. And as little fat of any kind as absolutely possible.
For the past week my body has been acting very 'short bowel' in its behavior. So if it is going to act like it, I need to start treating it that way.
-5 small meals a day ideally.
-diet high in carbohydrates.
-diet very low in fats.
-almost complete elimination of sugary drinks and no drinking with solid food.
-regular amount of fruits and veggies.
-replacement levels of certain vitamins. calcium, magnesium, zinc, folic acid, b-12.
A good explanation on why this is so, from a reputed source can be found HERE Not just false, pseudo science as most things about the 'best' diet for an individual.

What about coconut water in replacement of Pedialyte? I will usually mix a serving up with a liter of water for when I'm sweating out a lot in yoga/swimming.
ReplyDeleteWhy a diet high in carbs? I'm just curious.
Soda is not good for anyone, so I think its a good thing to quit!
with a colon but markedly reduced small bowel, carbohydrates (not just a simple sugar) are digested best in that time to get me the calories needed to survive. they also cause the least issued if passed into the colon undigested. fats and simple sugars are the worst. fruits and veggies are a toss up. my issue with them is my narrowed or strictured parts of intestine just can not have that much bulk/fiber pass through them without causing a mechanical problem.
ReplyDeletecoconut water does not have the best balance of sodium/potasium/sugar for digestion in my case. but it would be better than nothing.(or water) most juices and soda and gatorade have 3x the sugar that is best for me.
