Rowdy's Believe it or Not---OR---Mom v Dr M in a Baby Battle Royale!!

Here is a baby picture of me. The note on the back, presumably written by my mom says I am 9 weeks old.

A neighbor (Hi M!!) was over looking at pictures and saw this and asked if it was me and how old I was. When I said "nine weeks" she quite adamantly told me "no way!"

We went on to discuss why this could not be, and as she is the doctor and I am not, I almost had to side with her, but then that would mean my mom was wrong. (Not a pleasant situation to find yourself in. Either way I had to tell someone they were wrong)

Me-The picture says 9 weeks and I think my mom wrote my age down right, so I just naturally believe her.

Pediatrician Neighbor- A doctor, trained in child development and with years of experience tells me no way could I sit up at 9 weeks (even if balanced on my fat tummy) and that no way would I have developed the muscle and motor control to hold my head up like this until at least 6 months.

So which is it? Am I 9 weeks old here as the writing on the back of the picture states, or 6 months as is the opinion of an expert? I've got to think their is a huge difference in a baby between 9 weeks and 6 months........

Well?

  1. Whatever your age was there, you're so dang cute! I just want to pick that baby up and kiss it's fat little cheeks.

  2. You don't have to be 6 months old to hold your head up. I think you look about 3-4 months old here. Surprising that you could sit up by yourself, though. They usually have Mom's arm in the background, helping out!

  5. Gma said that you were nine weeks. The photographer held you there until the last second before he took the picture, then you fell over right after. Haha so you didn't really sit like that on your own. :)
