(i dont know what to say)

ugh, let's just get the cutesy crap outta the way...

$35 gasoline, $90 race entry, 5 hours driving, 20 minute race. Getting last place in my class, worthless.

"race on sunday, sell on monday" for me is "race on saturday, loose on saturday".

ok, so i did my first super d race with the rim nordic promoters. NOT a super d course that favors my strengths and totally was all about my weaknesses.

if you can't tell i placed 5th outta 5 in my class today. how did this happen? well there was 1.5 miles of sustained, continual climbing right from the start. nothing technical or scary at all. your wheels never leave the ground...... it was basically just a section of their xc course. totally a super d race for the weight weenie lycra crowd. whatever.... i mean, what kind of "d" race has you ride up the road to the top?? no shuttle? come on........ super d to me means downhill lite. super do to this organization mean "short xc". so with no jumps, no rocks, nothing remotely steep i still managed to fall once! HA! me, falling. (shaking my head)

the class i was in, "open" was inhabited by people getting paid to race, people with over 10 years racing experience and so on. yeah, i was totally not prepared for this kind of racing.

so, what came good of today? i was up in the mountains, people were nice, the course was well signed, the results posted quickly and the medals are attractive.(even for 5th)

having my weaknesses laid bare under the microscope of competition is not comfortable. my reaction to that feeling though is to train a little differently for how this series runs super d. oh, and i will be riding my hardtail, not my freeride bike!

this course also really makes me appreciate the courses at www.racersandchasers.com and the events i race with them. also, since i helped build and design the latest super d course it is much more to my liking.
