I agree with Ron Paul on something (rare) that health care is NOT a right. And the idea of "just tax rich people more, make them pay for it, they can afford it" is a knee jerk liberal simplistic response set to appeal to the lowest denominator in the masses. I like the saying that goes, "I've seen government housing, I don't want to see government healthcare."
Last night's mountain bike ride was 14 miles, 12 of them climbing. Some of the group was struggling so we finished when it was dark. None of us with lights of course.
Updating other personal stuff, I should be done with EMT school on Saturday after my skills test final. Then I have to take a national registry test a week or so after that. I am also waiting to hear if I will be taking a friend's job if he gets a promotion. This would be awesome as it is in the motorcycle field and I think I would really enjoy it. And I looked harder at the entry requirements for Physician Assistant programs in the Western US and most of them require you to take the GRE, have a year of chemistry w/ lab or at least biochem and organic chem along with microbiology. I have none of these! So that would mean a year of college down here before I could apply again, which would mean another year delay in starting!! As you don't start till a year after you apply! FREAK! I am not happy about that. It is very disheartening and once a stinking again I am unsure of what to do and unhappy about school/job stuff. I felt sooo good about the EMT course as a way to bolster my PA school application and it looks like it really doesn't mean anything. Oh, and most places want you to have graduated from college in the past 5 years. I graduated from college in 2002, so seven years ago.
I wish I could just be at peace with certain aspects of my situation, but I am not.
All I really know for work is stacking produce and nuclear medicine.
