Don't be an askhole. Yep, I think you can figure out what two words are smushed together to form this new word, so no need to draw you a picture.
Askhole: A person who asks your advice or opinion and consistently and immediately disregards it, often providing a counter-point to further their own opinion.
Friends normally trust friends. Often someone sees something form a different vantage point you can appreciate with a little open mindedness. If you value your friends enough to ask them for advice or opinion then freaking listen to it.
Do not be an askhole as you risk the people in your life tiring of your reaction and no longer caring to give you honest feedback. If you're not going to listen, think and possibly change your mind then stop asking a question where you know you only want to hear the answer you've already made up in your mind.
As a friend I'm telling you, stop it already!

Hangry
Hangry: one's emotional state of being angry caused by the heightened sense of hunger.
I like this word. It's pretty funny. I have another amalgam I'm going to share tomorrow that is I think just as good.
But how does this apply to now? Well, I am hungry, but I am not angry. Why am I hungry to the point of writing about it when I've gone without food for months at a time? Today is different.
One day a month I fast, meaning I eat or drink NOTHING for the time period in which I would have eaten two meals. Normally a breakfast and lunch. I then take the money I would have spent on those two meals and donate it.
Yesterday I got hangry. But today, while not eating with a purpose I've been able to successfully avoid getting hangry. If you believe that as an entity you are composed of two sides as it were, physical and spiritual then it is pretty cool to see how one side can effect the other.
I'd like to believe that by doing something like this, besides just helping someone by donating money for them to get food, I gain some control over my physical body. I become the boss, not "it". Self mastery.
Like my mom always told me, we don't often get to choose what happens in life, but we do get to choose how we react to it.

From the outside
I was able to get one of my friends to film me yesterday, mostly so I could check out body mechanic issues. While you can't see much of what the targets and course are like you get a rough idea of what I'm doing while competing.
The video is entitled "losing" because I shot below my potential, being 10th of 65 people. While that is 85th percentile, If I am not in the top 5 overall, I did not do my best.

My side of the bed...
My side of the bed could be called Nightmare Alley. I have a REM disorder so that my sleep is frequently interrupted and I have multiple nightmares each and every night.
Every night I whine, cry, whimper, moan, thrash (or am unable to move), yell, pant and so on while suffering torturous dreams. Thankfully I don't attach any significance to my dreams, preferring to think of them as neurological back-wash, or else I'd have to worry about what it all meant.
Unless I take my prescribed medication, Clonazepam*. It's primarily used to treat epilepsy and people with panic attacks. Of which I suffer from neither. There is a real danger though to habituation and abuse with benzodiazapenes so I don't take it every night. Last night reminded me why I probably should....
Sleep, night time and my bed should be my friends. But they're not.
* From the wiki: Like many other benzodiazepines, when taken as a sleep-aid, clonazepam disrupts or interferes with the brain's delta waves. Delta waves signify the brain's slowest waves (~4 Hz) and occur during Stage 4 sleep, which represents humans' deepest sleep state (our muscles are the most relaxed; breathing slows and becomes shallow), and the stage right before R.E.M. sleep and dreaming (Stage 5). Aquaman
In a flash of "brilliance" tonight I thought I figured out what I wanted, "thing" wise. If I'm gonna drop major coin, might as well make it something substantial. Something that will last and have value.
When Killer left for Korea I gave him my Bulova watch that I'd bought myself as a graduation gift for college. About $500 at the time.
Tonight I rolled to Fashion Valley with $5,000 in my pocket to buy a Rolex stainless steel Submariner. They are $7,000. I had another grand hidden at home but still..... I was dashed. Here I was thinking I was going to get something grand. A legacy piece my heirs could inherit. Something classic, with lasting substance beyond any motorcycle I want.
And I was $1,000 short. (plus tax)
Dang.
