2011 Triumph Daytona 675 mod

Here is what I have done so far to my bike:

-ordered light weight lithium ion batter, saving 9 lbs.
-installed Triumph 'low' seat getting me 10mm closer to the ground
-removing passenger pegs, fender reflectors, CA emissions and other stuff I felt I just wouldn't need, saving almost 3 lbs.
-dialing out a lot of rear spring preload and compression. a little out in front. new spring for my bodyweight on order from RaceTech. Then a suspension dial in.
-installed Two Brothers Racing carbon fiber exhaust muffler. Deleting the heat shield, rear fender and other brackets. Total savings of over 10 lbs according to my digital scale. and using the supplied bracket I like where my plate and signals are so no need to get the Clear Alternatives light.

Here are some pics of the new rear end and what it sounds like at idle, which is nothing compared to how it sounds at say 9,000 rpm!

You don't get what you don't ask for.

A friend from a long time ago once told me this, but in a different context. "You don't get what you don't ask for," she said at me in response to be being miffed about a miss-communication. If I wanted a certain something I should ask for it, rather than expecting other in my life to be mind readers or have to be Sherlock Holmes to unravel and understand my disjointed and obscure hinting.

There is a MMA clothing company who sponsors some mma and bjj fighters I like to watch and support. A quick check found that the sponsor patched worn on the gi by their fighters are not for sale. It was worse than trying to find a Shoyoroll gi! hahaha.

Instead I did around and find the contact email for Dethrone Royalty and I email them a simple query letter and my competition plans and history. Think of it as a light weight sponsorship prospectus.

I heard back from them within 24 hours with the sweet and simple directness of "how many do you want? where should we send 'em?" Beautiful.

Having had low level sponsorship for other activities, rock climbing and mostly mountain bike racing this was comparatively simple. Getting a little bit of free product up front helps both the athlete and the sponsor and can lead to more between them.

I love the look of their clothes, I think this patch is baaaddd looking! I can't wait to get them sewn on! I wanted a gi patch, so I asked for it. And got more than I wanted!

Dethrone Royalty. Check 'em out!

Tears of Joy!

Osama bin Laden is dead.

Ayman al Zawahiri you're next!

I will remember this day forever. May 1st at 7:55pm I was in my home in San Diego when I first heard the momentous news.

May Day -or- Plan to Work and Work the Plan.

Since this is a day used by others to celebrate work, I'm going to make a plan to put in some work.

Yeah yeah yeah I had a new abscess open and drain this morning. Hopefully it drained all its nastiness out and now I just have to heal up the 1" by 1" pocket it created. My current bandage is blood soaked so I think it will, just taking two or three weeks.

As I have the Mundials aka the World Championship of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coming up I need to do something to have a chance. And here is my plan to work.
