Where am I going with this? Well I raced the 'cruiser' class in bmx racing last year. Basically it is a class for adults on bigger wheeled bikes. Just so happens that all of these adults were expert racers as kids. So I never finished better than 3rd. Out of 3. If there were 6 guys, I was 6th. Continually crushed.
Well I just ordered a 20" bmx bike, a nice one by Intense. No bike excuses can be made for not winning. But the beauty of it is now that I am on a normal bike, I get put into an actual skill class. So I will be a true novice in with other novices. They may be 9 years old, but at least we are all novices.
Maybe there will be a return to my "rough and rowdy winning ways", as I eventually got pretty good at mnt bike racing when I was into that. I have a nice trophy and medal collection from mnt bikes.

And finally, I went back to jiu jitsu today for the first time in well over a month! No bandages, no holes, no leaking, no infection, no injuries and no excuses! Wow, essentially two years off that mat has made me rusty rusty rusty. But, I felt soooo freaking happy inside. I train with world champions at my belt level and higher. Truly world class training partners. So maybe if I get back into jiu jitsu competitions, which who am I kidding, we know I will, I can start winning there as well!
My rough and rowdy, Rowdy, ways.
