His pictures ended coming out really good. It is amazing what a 5 second shutter opening can gather in the form of light! Little did I also know I would have to help someone get unstuck from the sand. It's OK to be a beginner, but it is not OK to be a poseur. I was gonna let this guy just do his thing 'cause he had no idea what he was doing and wouldn't listen to anyone.
I loaned him a shovel. He made it worse. I loaned him a light as it was dark and 930pm. He didn't get himself out. At this stage I took pity on him and used my little Toy Tacoma to pull him out of the sand.
Lessons for you dear readers? Of course!
1. When in doubt 'gas it' is not always the right advice when you're stuck.
2. Carry the stuff in your truck to take care of yourself. I had two light sources, a tow strap, two shovels. You get the idea.... Guy didn't even have an eyelet or tow hook on the front of his rig....
3. Never ever buy a two wheel drive truck. It's a total waste. I've seen this mistake made before. It's why I'll never make it.
4. Realize when someone knows more than you and put away your ego. Listen and do what they say. In this case, air down your tires. Dig out in front of the rear wheels. Feather the throttle.

I had to read this post to Tyler. I knew he would get a kick out of your "lessons" because I have heard him say those exact same things at least 100 times.
