first LOSER aka 2nd place again
The things I had been having a tough time with lately in jiu jitsu are the exact things my most recent opponent exploited and used to get two wins over me. I could not have fought a better person to show me that. I got to use none of my strengths...
It was just the two of us in our class, adult blue belt 122-134 lbs, so we fought it out best of three matches.
I lost the first one 0-4 and the second one he got my left arm. He is a 4 stripe blue belt after all, so I kinda can see how it went the way it did...
This will be a big learning experience for me. I have really found where I am weak in my jiu jitsu and what I need to do to improve. I would like to thank my competitor for teaching me such a good lesson.
K did great in his class and brought home gold. Many of the kids from our school came home with medals!
I will not be going to Grapplers Quest this weekend in Las Vegas. I really want to, so as to get back at it, but my elbow is a little sore so I am going to wait and let it heal.
I do have to admit though that it was a huge blow to my ego to go from winning matches at the Pan Ams to loosing two in a row. Overall though my competition record is still pretty poor. 3-9. Three wins by points. Nine losses, 6 by points and 3 from being submitted.
Time to learn, time to grow.
(and add another freaking 2nd place medal to my collection!!)
